Hall Eyes Up Premier League Podium at Rally South Australia

Fusion Motorsport’s Mitchell Hall is approaching the fourth round of the Australian Rally Championship (ARC), the Sprint Auto Parts Rally South Australia with his eyes set firmly on gaining some much needed Premier League points at his home round.

Hall missed the third round, Rally Queensland, to concentrate on fixing some teething troubles in his Subaru WRX and is confident the changes will bring some added pace and reliability to the car.
“It was frustrating to miss Queensland however, we felt that it would be more beneficial for us to ensure the car is going at 100% for South Australia and this appears to have paid dividends as a precautionary “pull-down” of the gearbox showed some nasties that may have put an early end to our event” stated Hall.

With his time in high demand Hall has been thankful for the help of SA Motorsport Tyres and Eblen Subaru for their advice and assistance in preparation for the ARC’s South Australian round. “It is fair to say that without Eblen Subaru this event would not have happened for us, we are extremely grateful to them for all the hard work and time that they have put into the car” said Hall.

With the WRX now ready to tackle the fast and famous South Australian roads, Hall and his new kiwi co-driver Janah Mclean will concentrate on their efforts inside the car to gain confidence and those all important Premier League points.
“We did some testing at Walky Park last weekend just to ensure that Janah and I could work well together, it became clear from the first run that we weren’t going to have any issues there,” said Hall. “I’m really looking forward to getting out there and showing everyone what we are capable of, and I’m certain that there will be a few laughs along the way judging from our in-car experiences last weekend” laughed Hall.

Mclean, who will be competing in her first Australian event, is also looking forward to getting into the Subaru after 18 months out of the co-driver’s seat. “I’m definitely thrilled to be back out competing. It will be interesting to see just how the Australian roads will compare with what I am use to in New Zealand. It’s great to be sitting next to Mitchell and to be competing in an ARC round is something pretty exciting!” she enthused.
The team will spend Wednesday and Thursday next week completing their reconnaissance of the events 17 individual stages and will enter their first competitive stage at the ceremonial start at Angaston Oval on Friday night. “This is a fantastic event and one that we are capable of doing very well in. I have really been looking forward to competing in my home event so bring on the first stage!” concluded Hall.

The Sprint Auto Parts Rally of South Australia will take place in and around the scenic Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, Mt Crawford Forest and The Murraylands next week from July 25-27.
