The 2011 asp Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally in the safe hands of IMS Ambulance Services

This year, the ASP Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally have partnered with IMS Ambulance Services to provide the required pre-hospital care in case of any emergency. Though a subject that no one wishes to discuss let alone have to deal with during an event of this kind, the organising committee have been extremely impressed by the input and assistance that IMS Ambulance Service have provided the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally Safety Officer in the creation and implementation of the required safety plan for the event.

As there will be multiple stages run concurrently throughout the event to appease impact to the local residents and road using public by the stages that are being run, we have found that it is essential to have a fully equipped Ambulance Vehicle with qualified Paramedics and Ambulance Officers on each. IMS has committed 4 Ambulances with professional crews combining Paramedics, Intensive Care Nurses and Ambulance Officers.

IMS will also be transporting the CFS Fire Officer on board each vehicle to arrive at any incident scenes without delay.

In addition to Ambulance Units, IMS Ambulance Service will be providing a specially equipped fast response BMW Motorcycle as a First Intervention Vehicle (FIV) operated by a Paramedic. This Motorcycle Response unit is fully equipped to deal with a range of scenarios as 'first on scene' and will be following the Rally cars through all the competitive stages.

IMS Ambulance Service is a wholly South Australian owned organisation and is both the largest and leading provider of Private Ambulance Services in South Australia. In addition to patient transport services, industrial injury and remote mine medical services, IMS also has a keen interest in motorsport and event medical services.

Through working with the 2011 asp Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally, the benefits are many fold; the event will get the requisite specialised medical services for all that are involved by a dedicated team of highly professional and motivated personnel, and IMS will have an opportunity to both enhance their profile in the motorsport medical services market and have the perfect environment to promote their services to competitors and officials that will be taking part in the event.

IMS is also a committed sponsor of both the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally and of 'Z Racing'.

The 2011 Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally will be presenting 28 stages over 3 days, delivering almost 190 competitive kilometres. Friday will start with the prologue at Collingrove, followed by 6 stages that will head towards Penny’s Hill Winery at McLaren Vale through the magnificent Adelaide Hills. Saturday’s 12 stages will be run just south of McLaren Vale down to Victor Harbor, South Australia’s holiday capital and the events service park location for the day. Another 10 stages on Sunday will take place north west of McLaren Vale, travelling through the picturesque towns of Meadows, Macclesfield (location of the Sunday service park) and Strathalbyn before returning to McLaren Vale in the late afternoon to complete the event at Penny’s Hill Winery.

Entries have officially opened with the release of Supplementary Regulations.

The 2011 Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally has been scheduled for the 27th through to the 29th of May.
