Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally finds a new home at Serafino McLaren Vale

Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally 2012

The former McLaren on the Lake site will play host to the 2012 event, acting as service park and rally headquarters from Friday 18th May to Sunday 20th May, while the restaurant will hold the post event presentation dinner on the Sunday night.

Since the first Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally in 2007, McLaren Vale has served as the base for the event because of its location central to the competitive stages.

The grounds of Serafino McLaren Vale will provide a picturesque backdrop to the workings of the rally, and give visitors a great opportunity to get close to the cars and competitors, while drivers and teams have the convenient option of onsite accommodation in the four star resort, although spaces are filling fast due to the special Tarmac Rally packages being offered. Serafino have advised that only 9 rooms are still available for the three nights.

“While Serafino’s will conduct business as usual during the event, visitors will get a good dose of the spectacular rally atmosphere and are more than welcome to wander over for a look” commented Andrew Admiraal, one of the event organisers.

While competition stages and spectator times are yet to be announced, it is confirmed that the event will begin at Mallala Motorsport Park on day one, finishing at the service park at Serafino McLaren Vale on all three days, which will also be the starting location for days two and three.

Entries for the event have opened, and more information for competitors, spectators and officials can be found on the event website www.ahtr.com.au. For accommodation bookings, contact Serafino McLaren Vale direct on 08 8323 8911.
