In part two of the 2010 SA Rally Championship rumour file, there are a number of competitors looking at competing this year.

Rumours in brief:

Michael Krichauff
Michael looks to return in 2010 for another strong SARC campaign.

Simon Orme
After a year on the sidelines, Simon is looking at making a return in 2010.

Trent Brand
Another competitor having had a year off in 2009, hopefully we will see Trent dust off his WRX for another competitive SARC campaign.

Matt Selley
Matt plans to make a return to the 2010 SARC in his trusty Subaru WRX STi to defend his 2008 & 2009 championships.

With his 2009 co-driver Claire Ryan being called back into action for Declan Dwyer, he is in discussions with a potential new co-driver, hoping to make an announcement shortly.

Both days of the ASP/Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally and the ARC division of the Scouts Rally SA are key events, and hopefully the 2010 Classic Adelaide.

Yesterday CAMS announced the establishment of the Australian Modern Tarmac Rally Championship, following on from the success of the Australian Classic Tarmac Rally Championship in 2009. The 2010 Application Service Provider (asp) / Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally will be round of both the 2010 Modern and Classic Tarmac Rally Championships, joining Rally Tasmania, Targa West and Classic Adelaide as the other three rounds of both championships.

SARC Allocated Numbers

in

Due to concerns raised by Clubs about the increasing cost of supplying door panel numbers for each State round and the workload sorting numbers for competitor packs creates, last year SARP introduced an allocated number system.

The 3 digit numbers used are modelled on the off-road system and were intended to assist spectators to understand which vehicles are competing within a class.

I am aware that the system has been met with mixed reactions.
